Step aboard possibly the most famous train in the world for an experience of a lifetime. The very name the Venice Simplon Orient-Express invokes dreamy romantic visions of a journey that takes you through stunning scenery between some of the most glorious European cities; London, Paris, Venice, Rome, Prague, Budapest, Innsbruck, Vienna, Berlin and Istanbul. This is a train journey like no other and a vintage Art Deco treasure.

There are 90 Cabins and Suites throughout the original 1920's cars and guests can choose from a single or twin Cabin, a Cabin Suite (two twin Cabins together) or for the ultimate indulgence, a Grand Suite, of which there are just three. Cabins enjoy a washbasin with hot and cold water and the WC's are located at either end of each sleeping carriage. Suites enjoy the luxury of their own private en-suite bathroom.

In the Bar Car 3674, the resident pianist sets the scene for pre-dinner cocktails or post dinner relaxation. Lovers of Champagne can enjoy an exclusive Champagne Bar to sample some of the finest Champagnes surrounded by Art Deco interiors and Lalique glassware.

Each of the three restaurant cars take passengers on a culinary journey with scenic lunches and romantic dinners prepared by the on board Executive Chef Christian Bodiguel, who has been lovingly creating culinary masterpieces aboard the train for three decades. The restaurants are named Etoile du Nord, Côte d'Azur and L'Oriental and each has its unique style and décor. The dress code for dinner is of course formal, in line with the glamorous atmosphere and dressing up for dinner is all part of the experience. During the day, smart attire is also appropriate for your surroundings.

Region

Beautiful England!  This green and pleasant land seemingly created to inspire painters and poets, authors and cinematographers - think Thomas Hardy's Far From the Madding Crowd and even recent series Bridgerton (how could you not?!) -  from London's storied steeples, witnesses to countless royal weddings, to the meandering country lanes winding through the gently rolling hills of the Cotswolds with its golden-hued homes, to Devon's Jurassic cliffs and sandy beaches, to the undulating fells with their native ponies and deer who call the Lake District home.

Alongside incredible countryside there are of course England's ancient cities in all their historic, architectural glory: the action is - usually - in London, the busily inspiring capital and home to an array of art, design, dining, exploring, culture, parks and of course museums, many of which are free, while elegance and relaxation can be easily found a couple of hours away in Bath - city of Georgian grandeur intrigue and delightfully relaxing naturally hot springs. A Tale of Two Cities, if you will.

England's climate can be described as temperate maritime climate, because the Gulf Stream ensures mild, maritime influenced weather. England is famous for its rain, which is significantly heavier in the north. The coldest months are December to February, when the temperature is usually between 3 and 6 degrees. The summer months from May through to August are typically between 16 and 21 degrees Celsius and recent years have seen higher temperatures than ever.
