Sète, located in Languedoc in the south of France, is a charming port and seaside resort. It is separated into two areas, the low town with is port and snake like canals and bridges, and the high town on Mont-St-Clair. The area has around 8 miles of the finest beaches on the French Mediterranean coast.
Sète has maintained a strong, local identity and is still very much a working port. Scattered with pretty buildings, shops, restaurants and bars, there’s plenty to keep travellers engrossed in this bustling town. For some downtime, take an afternoon stroll along the streets edged by boats or spend a day one the glorious sandy beaches.
Sète also benefits from a very active cultural life which is greatly strengthened by the presence of several museums and churches.
