The words experiential and luxury are somewhat overused in the travel sector, but what if we told you we could offer you both of those things in one Private Expedition sensory hit?
Private Expeditions are all about the experience, so we look to design individual holidays according to your brief. We work exclusively with a network of industry leaders, who allow us to consider areas and experiences that most travel companies do not give a second thought. With any bespoke holiday, we pride ourselves on our attention to detail, creativity and due diligence. Whether travelling to a region that very few others have experienced, or visiting a country that is well-established on the tourist trail, we will ensure your journey is different.
From tribal immersion in Papua New Guinea, yacht expeditions in the Arctic Circle or fishing safaris in Africa - every request is treated on an individual basis, to ensure personal preferences are part of each day.
All of our itineraries are personalised but below is a glimpse into the kind of concepts we can offer to get those expedition juices flowing...
With the Caribbean shores to the east and dense jungles to the west Belize offers no shortage of appeal for an exploration both above and below the surface. Jump in and become a qualified spear fisher and catch your own lunch, before diving into the unique Blue Hole and using diver propulsion vehicles to take you deep under the ocean surface.
Once you’ve experienced some of the best dive sites in the world, catch a heli up into the highlands to explore Caracol. From the world-renowned UNESCO World Heritage site at Chichen Itza to exploring deep overgrown cenotes alongside a National Geographic fellow, the Peninsula boasts some of the most exciting archeological discoveries in history. Climb out of the jungle to be met with clifftop ruins and a coastline littered with turquoise-fringed beaches to finally reflect upon your journey.
The Kamchatka Peninsula in the Russian far east is arguably the most dramatic skiing destination on Earth. What awaits you is heli-skiing that few people have ever experienced, with untouched slopes descending fuming volcanoes and awe-inspiring scenery. The otherworldly beauty of the Kamchatka Peninsula is apparent from the moment you land in the capital, Petropavlovsk Kamchatsky, where you’ll be met by your guides.
Spend the days jumping out of helicopters before skiing down virgin slopes and experience some of the planet’s driest, deepest snow.
Drop-offs are ever-changing due to active volcanoes, but with such a vast area you’ll never ski the same slope twice and you are guaranteed that your guides and pilots will show you parts of Kamchatka that have rarely been seen before - let alone skied.
This itinerary is a fast-paced, thrilling adventure that provides an introduction to these sand swept countries like no other. From the vibrant food markets of Tel Aviv, to witnessing the sun paint the walls of The Golden City during morning prayers, to getting lost in the heart of the Wadi Rum’s cathedral-like rock formations. Spend nights under the eternal flickering of the stars, which shower the night sky from horizon to horizon. Take to the skies in a hot air balloon to see the sun burn off the night sky and drench the land in gold before exploring The Ancient Lost City of Petra in Southern Jordan accompanied throughout by a knowledgeable private guide.
Be tested to your limit, running counter-terrorism drills with Israeli Special Forces before exploring irresistible desert craters and canyons by foot.
Antarctica surpasses all superlatives. A truly vast wilderness of white and blue, almost twice the size of Australia, ice kilometres thick, soaring peaks miles high, savage winds and freezing temperatures, it’s a continent that few ever get to witness, whilst even fewer are able to travel to its heart, the South Pole.
After arriving into Punta Arenas you’ll head out to Antarctica the next day on board the behemoth Illyushin IL-76TD, landing at Union Glacier before transferring to a remote, one-of-a kind Antarctic camp. Immersed in a land of profound silence and pristine snowscapes, the camp is an exclusive location with nothing for many miles around. Be enveloped in luxury you’d never expect in such a remote part of the world, with king sized bed suites, a polar library and fresh ingredients flown in from Chile for the chef to prepare.
With deep temperate forests, harsh mountain peaks and craggy coastlines, the wildlife of remote British Columbia comes alive in the warmer months of the year. It’s an area dictated as much by water as by land, so helicopters and float planes are the perfect tool to explore this scheduled, but vast region. Set off from your doorstep with the best local guides, hiking past a 5,000 ft waterfall to go deep into the forest spotting Sea Eagles overhead and tracking Grizzly and Black Bears as you go.
Go further afield and try your hand at heli-fishing, with up to 50 isolated rivers and streams to choose from. Back on the water, paddle board with sea lions and dolphins or climb aboard a private boat to spot majestic Orca and Humpback whales. After absorbing the sights, sounds and smells of all that British Columbia has to offer, enjoy a glass of champagne on a mountain top as the sun sets out to the west.
Undoubtedly one of the last great frontiers on the planet, Papua New Guinea is truly for the intrepid amongst us. Arguably no region has such a plethora of diverse experiences condensed into one area. Go deep into verdant tropical jungle in the hope of spotting the amazing Birds of Paradise before scrambling and scaling up 4,000 metre active volcanoes. Back on the coast dive onto a wide array of stunning WWII wrecks consisting of tanks, bombers and ships, before coming face to face with a wider array of macro and pelagic sea life.
A trip to Papua New Guinea wouldn’t be complete without a deeper insight into their millenia old tribal culture. Helicopter to the super remote region of Aseki to discover smoked mummified remains before having an awe-inspiring encounter with the Huli Wigmen, Asaro Mudmen and Melpa dancers.
