Switzerland

As a wise man (well, to be more precise a rather crazy ex-downhill Olympian champion skier!) once said to us, "Switzerland is the heart of Europe, Europe is the heart of the World, the World is the heart of the Universe and therefore Switzerland is the heart of the Universe." We like his logic. And we whole heartedly agree. Though a small country, Switzerland packs a punch when it comes to bidding to be the top place to visit in Europe.

Images of Heidi, cheese, watches, St Bernards and wooden huts all spring to mind when one mentions Switzerland. And yes, this is exactly what you will find when you venture to the likes of Zermatt, Verbier and Andermatt. There is great efforts put in place to preserve the raw beauty and heritage of these alpine resorts. Expect gingham, cowhides, window boxes overflowing with vibrant flowers, the tinkering of cow bells, horse drawn sleigh and more photographic 'fodder' than social media can handle!

But if cutting edge architecture, high end boutiques, swanky bars and buzzing metropolis are more your 'kettle of fish' then don't discount Switzerland too quickly. Her cities are equally as attractive and there is an overwhelming 'relaxed chaos' that needs to be seen to be believed. Zurich, Geneva and even back to the mountains in St Moritz; there's the urban elegant feel with fast cars & loud noises but everyone still finds time to take an hour here and there to relax on the tree lined boulevards and enjoy an aperitivo or two with friends & colleagues! We love their style.
