Nyungwe Forest National Park covers over 1,000 square kilometers and is possibly one of the world’s most pristine and beautiful mountain rainforests. The park is believed to be one of Africa’s oldest forests, remaining green even through the Ice Age, which accounts for its diversity.
The park is home to habituated chimpanzees and 12 other primates species (along with a 400-strong troop of habituated Ruwenzori Black & White Colobus), it’s also heaven for bird watchers with over 300 species, including 16 endemics, along with 75 different species of mammal.
This impressive rainforest is filled with nature and various wildlife experiences. Hiking and even biking the stunning terrain, tracking the famous chimpanzees, witnessing beautiful birds, experiencing the canopy walk and relaxing by the beautiful waterfalls are just a glimpse of some of the activities that are available in Nyungwe.
Views and sounds collaborate to create a once in a lifetime wildlife experience. Delving into the forest, travellers will observe the fertile green mountains and cooling mist in a landscape that they will remember forever.
