With 22,000 square kilometres of vastly different scenery, Kafue National Park is the largest and oldest reserve in Zambia, yet is little known to average tourist or traveller, making it the perfect place for an authentic safari experience to observe more animals than humans!
The best way to experience the whole park and its diverse landscape and wildlife is to take a longer stay and start at the North and work your way South (or vice versa). From rocky hills to woodlands and open grassland to the cascading rapids of the River Kafue, the park has so much to offer. Safari's come with an option of walking, boating, driving, or perhaps all three.
Cape buffalo, defassa waterbuck, lion, red lechwe, sable, leopards, hippo and crocodiles are all on offer to observe in their natural habitat. This National Park is a real treat.
