Machangulo Beach Lodge lies on the untamed Southern Mozambican coastline, nestled amongst the lush vegetation of the dunes.
Glass doors fold back to let the sea air flow through the property and frame stunning views over Inhaca Island and the ocean. Traditional décor, natural woods and extensive decks create a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere, ideal for family fun and island romance.
There are nine Premium Ocean View rooms perched up on a ridge near the main lodge building with breath-taking views of the ocean and Inhaca Island. All are luxuriously furnished with modern amenities and great attention to detail.
A system of wooden walkways winds through indigenous bush, connecting to the main lodge.
As night falls, sip cocktails on the deck, or in the boma around a blazing campfire, reminiscing over a day of sun and laughter.
Machangulo offers a world of fun and exciting activities for the whole family - from relaxing and soaking up the sun to the thrill of big game fishing. There is a full activity centre on site with friendly and qualified staff.
Tour nearby local villages, Inhaca Island and the bay, canoe along quiet inlets and perhaps battle it out with some of the region’s monster fish.
Scuba diving, snorkelling, dhow safaris, bird watching, whale watching (June to December), plus picnics are all available (some additional charges may apply).
The stunning Machangulo peninsula is an unspoilt African wilderness located in the Southern most part of Mozambique, which is adjacent to Inhaca and Portuguese Islands in the Bay of Maputo. It has a land area of thousands of hectares and has over 20 kilometres of sandy beaches on the warm Indian Ocean.
Within the peninsula there are twelve extensive lakes and a huge territory of indigenous natural bush. The coastline falls within a marine reserve protecting vanishing turtles and is bordered by the bay on the Western side, the wildness of the Indian Ocean on the East and a safari game reserve to the South. The estate’s exclusive and private landing strip is only a 20 minute flight from the capital of Mozambique, Maputo.
