Londolozi Pioneer Camp is located in the Sabi Sand Private Reserve, under the shade of the majestic Ebony Trees and surrounded by scenic bush and river views. An intimate camp with three private suites, Pioneer is ideal for small family groups (if taken on an exclusive-use basis).

Two chalets are connected by a glass sky walkway. Spacious suites offer clean lines and sophisticated décor, with glass sliding panels, decks and private plunge pools. Victorian bathrooms merge old-world with modern chrome and marble.

Thatched central areas feature comfortable living spaces. The sense of a fading era is captured through the use of faithfully restored historic memorabilia which help to evoke the nostalgia of the pioneering past.

Savour delicious meals served indoors or on decks with the sounds of the bush as background music.

Between game drives or nature walks perhaps try a yoga class at Founder's Camp, cool off in the pool, or have a spa treatment.

Region

Kruger National Park is one of the largest game reserves in South Africa. Covering an area of over 19,000km, its natural landscape of mountains, tropical forests and bush plains are home to nearly 150 mammals (including elephant, lion, rhino, leopard and buffalo), 100 reptiles and over 500 species of bird.

There are several different ways to experience this wonderful reserve, not solely the standard safari jeep. Why not take an exhilarating bush walk instead and follow the footprints of the phenomenal creatures.

For those wanting more of a private experience, Sabi Sands game reserve is a private game reserve for visitors wanting a longer safari experience. This means no day visitors are authorised in the reserve. It shares open borders with the Kruger National Park, ensuring the animals and wildlife can wander where they please without the restriction of fences. Sabi Sands proves to be particularly liked by large herds of animals, and leopard spottings are frequent here, and with the rangers being allowed to safari off road (Kruger National Park does not allow this), you can quite literally get a deeper safari experience!

The warmest months of the year in Kruger National Park are generally also the wettest months. From November to March the lands are glorified with rain, yet April through to October are vastly different with the temperature dropping slightly and the rainfall ceasing.

The daily hours of sunshine in this region maintain a constant of around eight hours a day, and come rain or shine, the region is perfect for exploring.
