Hwange Bush Camp nestles under a canopy of trees within hilly countryside in the remote northern region of Hwange National Park. The camp has a rustic old-world charm, reminiscent of the explorer era.

12 guests are accommodated in six spacious twin-bedded Meru tents with tasteful décor, solar power lighting and large gauze window. Children under 14 yrs can be accommodated in a third bed. The en-suite tents have flush toilets and a bush shower with hot water.

Communal areas include a shady lounge, bar, dining area and open fire-pit.

Delicious meals are cooked in the bush camp kitchen over a wood burning stove. Professional guides conduct game drives in 4x4 vehicles or guided walks in this national park which is famous for its wealth of animals.

This seasonal camp (May – November) welcomes children over eight years of age.

Region

Bordering Botswana, Hwange National Park is Zimbabwe’s largest game park with an area of 14,600km² and is only a two hour drive or a 40 minute flight from Victoria Falls. Its sheer size means that its scenery, vegetation and game vary massively, ranging from the semi desert scrub on the edge of the Kalahari in the south, to forests, granite hills and valleys of mopane woodlands in the north.

The national park is home to over 400 bird species and 100 mammal species, including lion, leopard, cheetah and rhino, and is known for its large population of elephant. The highest numbers of animals are spotted in the dry season when the wildlife congregates around the shrunken water holes.

Keen birders, however, might enjoy the summer months from November to April when migratory birds are present.
