One Bedroom Ocean View Villa Bedroom

Four Seasons Nam Hai

Central Vietnam, Vietnam

  • From €626/night
  • Hotel, Villa
  • 100 Room/s

This beautiful beach resort sits just 15 minutes from the UNESCO World Heritage Site town of Hoi An. Out of the 100 villas, most enjoy views over the South China Sea and all are very generous in size. Some offer swimming pools and some sunken bathtubs and all have decor reflective of modern Asia using dark woods, peaked roofs and grey stone complemented by fabulous outdoor spaces.

One Bedroom Villas can be overlooking the gardens, ocean or beachfront or with a private heated infinity pool while Family villas are perfect for up to three children, with an extra bed, a trundle bed and space for a cot too. Two Bedroom Villas offer garden views, come with a private heated infinity pool and can sleep up to six adults or four adults and two children. Three Bedroom Villas are split out between hilltop, ocean view and beachfront, all have private heated infinity pools and are so indulgent you may never want to leave.

Two excellent restaurants are presented in Café Nam Hai, offering Western and Indian dishes and the lantern-lit, atmospheric Vietnamese restaurant Lá Sen.

To be highly recommended is the Nam Hai Cooking Academy. Start your day with an early morning water buffalo ride through rice fields and end it enjoying the delights of the mouthwatering Vietnamese dishes you have prepared using many ingredients from the hotel's own herb and vegetable garden.

Outside the resort two 18 hole golf courses are just 10 minutes away and diving is available at the nearby Cham Islands, where there is a PADI centre.

At the watersports centre body boarding, kayaking and windsurfing are all complimentary and at additional cost are an impressive range of motorised watersports. Four tennis courts, badminton and a half size basketball courts (all floodlit - of course) complete the picture. No chance of boredom here! Oh and of course if you want a personal trainer or coach for anything, just say the word.

On the slightly more relaxing side, an incredible spa experience awaits, even for children, over the age of 12. An in house Zen Master is on hand for yoga and mindfulness too.

Thoughtful touches for younger children include mini-bathrobes, bucket and spades and cuddly toys and under fives can also eat for free with their parents. Chuon Chuon Kids’ Club also provides free snacks for little people to munch their way through the day and babysitting can be arranged for a very reasonable price. For those with older children, Four Seasons runs an excellent concept of 'Young Adults Club' in their resorts - a space with table tennis, table football and pool where older kids can hang out. There really is very little that hasn't been thought of here, a superb choice for anyone.

Region

Central Vietnam is a fascinating region which is, amongst other things, home to the towns of Hoi An and Hue.

Hoi An, sitting 20 miles south of Danang, is a great place to experience a slower-paced version of Vietnam. This quaint riverside town boasts traditional wooden houses, bridges and temples in such good condition that the town has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The architecture has been heavily influenced by the Chinese and Japanese traders who settled and set up a trading area in the 16th century. Traditions are upheld well here and on the 15th of each lunar calendar month, all lights, signs and televisions are turned off in the Old Quarter and replaced with the warm glow of a delightful array of colourful silk and paper lanterns.

Danang, right in the middle of the country on the coast, was once the former capital of the Kingdom of Champa and thus is home to a museum housing a large collection of Cham artefacts. Later the city became an important port during French rule and during the war a base for the Americans. These days the city and coast has plenty of hotels to choose from and is a great place to enjoy some beach life for a while with some lively city life nearby.

North of Danang is Hue, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located on the banks of the Perfume River. The town was once the the Imperial Residence of Vietnam’s Nguyen Emperors, an important centre of Buddhism. This associated history means that there are plenty of historical and cultural sites to visit including pagodas, temples, Emperors' Tombs on the southern bank of the river and the Forbidden Purple City. The town and the area around it suffered from much action in the war and those with an interest in military history will definitely be intrigued to visit. One place for a moment of quiet contemplation is the Jungle Crevice where many citizens were pushed to their death by the Viet Cong.

In Central Vietnam other areas include small coastal resorts, highlands and national parks although many of them are far less developed and thus accommodation options can be fairly basic.

The towns of Hoi An, Hue and Danang enjoy hot and dry weather (up to mid 30 degrees Celsius) from mid-January to late August. The winter months bring increased rainfall peaking in November and December sometimes bringing typhoons. Hoi An is often a touch warmer than Hue, especially early in the year and these two towns can experience quite diverse weather due to the position of a small mountain range between the two. Our weather data is based on Hoi An.
