Sensitively renovated in a painstaking restoration project undertaken by the previous owners, Crossbasket Castle is a stunning 17th Century castle transformed into one of Scotland's most luxurious hotel and event venues.

Crossbasket features nine breath-taking bedrooms, each elegantly furnished in keeping with the Castle’s historic background. Antique furniture, heavy fabrics and crystal chandeliers complement the high ceilings and large windows, which offer views over the gardens and river.

The most unique of Crossbaskets spacious rooms is the Lindsay Tower Suite, usually known as the honeymoon suite, which is set over several floors. Set in the Castle’s tower, a narrow stone staircase takes you from the sitting room on the ground level up to the bedroom, complete with a four-poster bed... Wind on up again and you arrive in a simply divine bathroom, then finally on the top floor is the cosy snug area with TV and sofas.

Crossbasket can also accommodate those looking for a more self-contained stay. The three-bedroom East Lodge (sleeps 6) and the two-bedroom Gate Lodge (sleeps 4) are two lovely standalone properties complete with fully equipped kitchens as well as saunas, sun terraces and hot tubs. These

are perfect for any family or group of friends looking for ultimate relaxation, luxurious surroundings, and additional privacy.

Several reception rooms provide the perfect ambiance for gathering for a drink or simply relaxing alone. The elegant Blue Room features a twinkling chandelier and cream sofas nestle around the fireplace, whilst the Library and adjacent bar embody a more country style, with deep greens and dark mahogany cabinets that store an extensive list of liquors and spirits.

The prestigious Albert & Michel Roux Jr Restaurant is set in the intimate Baillie Room decorated with gold leaf wallpaper and antique furniture. It offers an à la carte menu revolving around local produce. There are also several spots within the Castle that can accommodate private dining.

During your stay at Crossbasket Castle, you will be looked after exquisitely by staff who have all been with the Castle since its 'new-life' as a hotel began, and who know every nook & cranny of this four-storey fairy-tale.

If you are looking for a luxurious holiday in Scotland, we would recommend adding Crossbasket Castle to your shortlist. It is a great place to enjoy this wonderful area of the country.

Wild, rugged and romantic are the three words that spring to mind when we cast our thoughts to holidays in Scotland. With many a myth and legend sung from these undulating lands, there is a uniquely strident beauty to this area that changes dramatically from season to season.

During the winter months, the snow-covered Cairngorms National Park beckons winter enthusiasts to take advantage of uncrowded ski areas. Short daylight hours are more than made up for by sublime winter sunsets, which cast their warm hues over the breath-taking horizons and announce that it’s time to retreat inside. With the promise of a fireside 'dram' awaiting you at the end of the day in your very own Gothic castle, it's all a bit like something out of a Sir Walter Scott novel...

Come the emergence of spring, Scotland’s lochs - such as Loch Ness, Loch Lomond and Loch Laggan - lose their 'winter skin' and wildflowers return to the foothills of the mountains in an explosion of colour. With seemingly endless days, summer is the perfect time to explore Scotland. Skirted with miles of pristine coastline and studded with country estates, it hosts a plethora of landmarks, including six UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Alongside its stunning natural scenery, Scotland’s cities are not to be missed. The capital, Edinburgh, with its bustling medieval Old Town, is one of Europe's most vibrant and cultural cities. With the iconic Edinburgh Castle overlooking her historic city, Edinburgh hosts The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and Edinburgh Festival Fringe in summer, along with the ever-popular Hogmanay (New Year’s Eve) and Burns Night in January. With some of the world’s leading chefs choosing Edinburgh as their home, there is a culinary Enlightenment taking place in Scotland, but we're thrilled to see the classics still remain... a holiday in Scotland would not be complete without a dish of haggis, neeps & tatties, all washed down with whisky!
