Cavas was the first true luxury wine lodge in Mendoza and has retained its reputation as the benchmark for exceptional service, style, sophisticated yet relaxed ambiance and sommelier knowledge, coupled with an excellent restaurant and spa.
The lodge is situated in a 22 hectare private estate with stunning views to the snow peaked Andes.
There are 14 quirkily designed casitas which all face the vineyards and mountains. Each has a private outside rooftop terrace with a fireplace to watch the sunset before supper.
Each casita also has a ground floor terrace with loungers and plunge pool. Additionally there are 3 villas accommodating up to 4 guests per villa.
The restaurant specialises in simple, elegant dishes but with a Latin America flare. Dining is either inside or on the candlelit terrace. Personal dining is also available in your casita and the Grand Villa has a full kitchen should you wish to prepare your own meals or have a private chef.
Wines are a speciality, of course, and the lodge have their own sommelier offering personalised tastings.
Either stay on a fully inclusive basis which includes visits to local bodegas, dining at a choice of alternative restaurants, activities and spa. Bed and Breakfast is also available with the concierge on hand to offer advice on more independent exploring around the region.
The province and city of Mendoza is the main export wine region of Argentina, famous for Malbec. The city and region has a stunning location beneath the eastern flanks of the soaring Andes Mountains. Here, the Andes are at their highest point, snow-capped and rising majestically from the desert. It is here, in the vineyards with views to the Andes that you will find the most exquisite wine lodges that excel in service, sommelier expertise, fine dining, luxury and privacy.
The region around the town of Cayfayate, to the North West of Mendoza, less accessible but well worth the journey, is another wine region worthy of exploration. Torrontes is a speciality, grown at higher altitude along with Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon.
