&Beyond Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp lies in the heart of the Delta, in an 8,000 hectare private concession, south-east of Moremi. Nestled under a canopy of ebony trees, the property overlooks the scenic lagoons, channels and floodplains of this lovely part of Botswana.
Nine safari tents are built on raised wooden platforms, and extend out to private decks. The muted hue of the interiors and stylish furnishings blend seamlessly with the pristine landscape beyond.
Spacious central areas include comfortable indoor and outdoor living spaces and link to the tents by a system of walkways which skirt the lagoon.
The &Beyond team help create moments that really count. Between exciting morning and afternoon game drives, walks, power boating and mokoro activities, perhaps cool off in the pool or browse through the safari shop. At night, the camp comes into its own: dozens of twinkling candles cast a soft glow over the dining area and meals may be enjoyed beside the pool – a magical setting.
This stunning and unique wetland area is formed by the Okavango River flowing into the Kalahari Desert. It creates the distinctive oasis known as the Okavango Delta.
Comprising of thousands of tiny islands, some solely made of small salt planes too salty to support plants, around 70% of the islands were originally termite mounds, however they now serve as land for wildlife.
Being a rarity in that it is one of the only sources of water available for animals and wildlife in day light hours means that it attracts thousands of animals. This creates a particularly special opportunity for observing many different animals, birdlife and fish.
The Okavango Delta can be explored in some rather exciting ways - on foot, in a game drive vehicle or in a Mokoro to delve into life in the floodwaters. However you decide to experience this wondrous oasis, it really is sure to be the trip of a lifetime.
