Apoka Safari Lodge is located in Kidepo Valley National Park, which is Uganda's remotest park.
The landscape has golden grasses, jagged hills, rocky outcrops and vast golden green plains dotted with wildlife.
The 10 spacious rooms have natural canvas walls, a sitting room, private verandah and an outdoor bathtub with never ending views across the plains.
The main area has a swimming pool which has been carved out of the big roock and a dining room with plenty of lovely sitting areas.
You will see wildlife here in abundance with elephant, leopard, lion, cheetah, giraffe, zebra (this is Uganda’s only park where zebra and giraffe are found together), possibly Africa’s largest herds of buffalo, waterbuck, hartebeest, bushbuck and warthog, amongst other animals.
Activities include game drives, spot lit night drives and birdwatching in Kidepo Valley National Park. Walks and drives are taken by excellent guides with a wealth of local knowledge.
Make sure to spend time in a Karamojong village learning all about their traditional way of life.
Kidepo Valley is the embodiment of Africa, with the most stunning scenery of any protected area in Uganda. The rugged, short-grass savannah is dominated by the colossal Mount Morungole and intersected by two major valley systems – the Kidepo and Narus rivers.
Vegetation and animal populations vary between the two valleys, meaning that there is always an exciting spot no matter where you are in the park. Inhabited by large concentrations of elephants, zebras, buffaloes, bushbuck, giraffes, lions, jackals, leopards, hyenas, Nile crocodiles (we could go on!), Kidepo is a wildlife utopia. Furthermore, the park boasts animals found nowhere else in Uganda, such as kudus and aardwolves.
Considered one of the most remote, and arguably the most magnificent, safari parks in Africa, Kidepo Valley National Park is guaranteed to give you treasured memories, as well as an abundance of photographs.
