The Andaz Papagayo Resort is just a 30 minute drive from the International airport at Liberia. Located within the private Papagayo Peninsular with direct access to the peninsula's beaches, golf course, marina and dining options at the neighbouring Four Seasons.
The Andaz is a wonderful way for those looking to relax and have fun after an exploration of Costa Rica's isolated eco lodges and adrenaline paced activities.
Light, airy and contemporary rooms, all with large comfortable balconies with sweeping views over Culebra Bay to the Pacific Ocean beyond. The calm bay waters allow for gentle swimming, water sports and stunning west coast sunsets.
Three restaurants are available for every time of day with Bongo serving exceptional breakfast al fresco with an extensive menu complete with ceviche and cocktail classes.
Service is informal, fun and extremely attentive by a team of people learning the business with unforced familiarity.
Daily activities are usually dictated by the thermometer! The cooler mornings are ideal for sports... golf, tennis, biking and walking the nature trails. The afternoons for water sports and lazing by the pool or in the stunning Onda Spa.
As a Rocksure Club Member take advantage of arranged private boat trips from the marina and twin centre hotels, just along the southern Pacific coast.
The North Pacific and Nicoya Peninsular have some of the best beaches in Costa Rica. You will find sheltered sandy bays ideal for gentle water sports and swimming to world renowned oceanic surf beaches.
Strict planning regulations have ensured that the coastline hasn't suffered from the sprawling coastal development. There are a few large resorts but we prefer the smaller scale boutique resorts, Andaz being a favourite with excellent facilities and service.
Nosara and Santa Teresa on southern Nicoya are laid back but lively surf villages frequented by healthy living Hollywood celebs that retreat to their villas in the lush hills above the beach. Here we are privy to a clutch of stunning villas with 24 hour concierge with access to private chefs, wellness classes and surf instructors.
Costa Rica is a small but mountainous country and some road journeys can be lengthy. There is an international airport at Liberia in the north which greatly reduces journey times to the northern Pacific coast.
