Sri Lanka’s most famous and popular National Park forming 1,268sq km, this glorious area of forest, grassland and lagoons is situated at the South-East of the main island and borders the Indian Ocean.
As well as boasting a very large array of Birdlife, it’s most notorious for spotting many leopards, as well as elephants and crocodiles.
If you fancy a longer Safari without time limits, pack a picnic and a tent, as camping is available at Yala National Park, and during the months between February and October, the day safaris can be quite busy. The Safari track isn’t one for the faint hearted, and the bumpy roads add to your authentic experience!
